"Learning is Fun! " John E. Novak

The Mansfield Foundation is honored to announce the establishment of a scholarship in memory of John E. “Jack” Novak, a beloved and visionary principal (1966-1993) at Mansfield’s Warren L. Miller elementary school.

This scholarship has been established by his family and friends. They would like to see his passion for education and helping others succeed be passed on to future generations. Enhancing the mind and spirit of every student was Mr. Novak’s greatest passion throughout his entire life and career in education.

Mr. Novak had a special heart and caring spirit. He was always helping others in need through actions such as continuously promoting and implementing advantages for students with disabilities before it was required. His Warren L. Miller "kids" were like his own, no matter how much time passed, he knew them all by name whenever he saw them and made them feel special.

His unwavering belief in every student set strong foundations for student success. Starting in the spring of 2023, the John E. Novak Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from North Penn-Mansfield High School who is a resident of Covington Township, Mansfield Borough, Putnam Township, Rutland Township, Richmond Township or Sullivan Township and attending the two or four year college of their choice.

The purpose of this annual scholarship shall be to provide financial assistance to graduating seniors of North Penn-Mansfield Jr./Sr. High School from those counties served by Warren L. Miller elementary school during the time Mr. John Novak would have served as principal.
