Scholarship Application Timeline
February 15, 2026: AwardSpring Opens to Receive Applications
June 21, 2026 (11:59 pm): AwardSpring Closes. 2025-26 Scholarship Applications are no longer accepted.
June 29, 2026: Scholarship Review Committee Receives Access to Review Candidates
July 20, 2026: Selection Committee Submission Deadline to Foundation Scholarship Office
July 20 – July 31, 2026: Scholarship Recipients Notified via their email from the Foundation Scholarship Office. Please note that due to the nature of some scholarships, notification may occur after July.
October 2026: Student Thank-you event to be held - date TBD.
Mid-September : Scholarship funding sent to Student Accounts at respective universities for Fall & Spring disbursements. Please note that scholarships may be disbursed later due to individual university timelines.
August 7, 2026: Applicants Not Receiving Scholarships Notified
Scholarship Award Disbursement
With few exceptions, the Mansfield Foundation sends all scholarship awards to the students attending university’s Student Billing Office, and they are typically divided equally between the fall and spring semester unless otherwise directed by the scholarship agreement.
The Foundation’s scholarship office is willing to work with students in applying an award to one semester depending on the scholarship agreement and the reason for the request. For example, a student may request that their award be paid completely in the fall semester, as the student will graduate in December.
The exception to the direct application of scholarships to a student’s account is when a donor requests that an award be paid directly to the student. Please note that recipients will be provided IRS Form 1099- MISC if they receive a check in the amount of $600, or more, and may be subject to report the scholarship(s) as miscellaneous income on their tax return(s).
Students should not plan to utilize scholarships for the next academic year or during the summer term unless the scholarship specifically states as such. The Mansfield Foundation will generally announce scholarships in the summer for the next academic year and awards will be disbursed in the upcoming academic year. Student applicants should have at least one, preferably two, semesters of study remaining at their university at the time they receive notification of their scholarship.
