Are you a high-achieving student academically? Then you might consider applying for the Jump Start College Scholarship, established by Ward Manufacturing LLC!
This endowed scholarship supports student success and opportunity by creating a permanent funding source for students that will be entering their freshman year pursuing any major at any college within the U.S.
The Jump Start College Scholarship is open to students who are currently seniors or entering their first year in college. Eligible applicants must be residents of Tioga, Potter or Bradford counties. The scholarship is awarded on an annual basis. Two lucky students will be awarded $1,000 from the Jump Start College Scholarship each application cycle.
With their Jump Start College scholarship fund, it is Ward’s commitment to keep the doors to education open by offering relief to the rising costs of tuition that may keep many students from embarking on their post-secondary educational journey. Ward Manufacturing has been a committed philanthropic partner in our communities for decades.

Scholarship FAQs
Eligibility Requirements?
1. Student applicants must be residents of Tioga, Bradford or Potter counties.
2. Minimum High School GPA 3.0
3. Provide a personal statement answering ONE of the following questions in 250 words or less.
(1) What are your educational goals? -OR- (2) How will winning this scholarship help you attain your goals? -OR- (3) Write about a time when "hard work" paid off.
Your personal statement will be judged on its content not your writing style. Please focus on the substance of your answer. And remember the words of Thomas Jefferson who said, "The most valuable of all talents is that of never using two words when one will do." Good luck!
When will the winner be announced?
Jump Start College Scholarship recipients will be selected by February 28th. Recipients will receive an official award notice via email.

Is this scholarship renewable?
No, the Jump Start College Scholarship is not renewable.

There are excellent online sources to assist you in helping to write winning essays. You can also meet with your Guidance Counselor for help in preparing/reviewing your application.
